µPET

micropet camera

The microPET camera allows the in vivo visualisation of the distribution of tracers labeled with a positron emitting radionuclides (eg fluorine-18, carbon-11, nitrogen-13, oxygen-15, gallium-68).

The radionuclides are produced in our on site cyclotron (fluorine-18, carbon-11, nitrogen-13, oxygen-15) or a radionuclide generator (gallium-68) and incorporated in the tracers using dedicated radiochemistry modules placed in lead shielded hotcells. Radionuclide production and radiosynthesis are performed in the radiopharmacy of the Nuclear Medicine department and are sent to the moSAIC department using a pneumatic air tube system.
